Heavy snow leads to limited availability of salt in parts of US and Canada

Limited availability of rock salt in parts of Canada and the midwest and northeast US has been reported, due to above average amounts of snowfall this winter.

Private contractors, who remove snow and ice from parking lots, commercial businesses, and retail establishments, are finding it increasingly difficult to get salt in some areas as heavy winter weather continues and it is recommended they advise property managers of the pending salt shortage.

LO founding father, Don Salivan passes away

Don Salivan, owner of Salivan Landscape Ltd., and a founding member of Landscape Ontario, died on March 14 in Sarasota, Florida.
Visitation is at the Humphrey Funeral Home - A.W. Miles Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East), from 2-4:30 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19. The funeral will be held at Leaside United Church, 822 Millwood Road, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 20.
