Effective succession planning can be complicated by multiple generations and family relationships in the workplace. Family businesses must leverage the unique strengths they possess to remain competitive, particularly during times of transition. The small- and large-group activities, case studies and group discussions in this full-day workshop are designed for business owners/managers and family teams. Participants will learn best practices in effective succession planning, as well as the value of families and multiple generations working together in a business. Strengths and weaknesses of family businesses will be highlighted, to build a framework for managing conflict and making decisions. Finally, participants will outline a strategy to support succession planning in their own organizations.
