EN009: New-Ecological Practices for Sustainable Turf Care
Seminar Cancelled
You will be introduced to an ecological land management system that promotes and enhances biodiversity and soil biological cycles, whether in private or public landscapes. The principles and practices, as defined by the Canadian Society of Organic Urban Land Care, can be used from the design phase through installation and maintenance to help guide a project for Low Impact Development (LID) and designing sustainable living Green Infrastructure (GI).
You will learn that sustainable turf care is not about product substitution, but rather presents a whole new approach for starting and maintaining a healthy grass ecosystem. Topics include installation, renovation, weeds, and annual maintenance. Participants will come away with a decision making framework based on the recent science around sustainable land care. Practical applications will be explored throughout the day.
This seminar is for anyone working in design and planning, parks and recreation, lawn and garden, landscaping, and maintenance looking to gain credibility when promoting their commitment to sustainable practices.
