The Ministry of Labour has informed us they will be visiting workplaces during September and October to ensure that every reasonable precaution is taken to protect workers who handle machinery, equipment and materials.

Inspectors will be focused on cranes and other lifting devices, mobile transport equipment, workplace layout and design, material handling procedures, and most importantly worker and supervisor training.

To help members prepare for a possible MOL visit, Landscape Ontario is pleased to partner with Workplace Safety & Prevention Services (WSPS) to present a complimentary awareness webinar being held on August 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. This is your opportunity to gain insight into what MOL inspectors will be looking for and what you can do to ensure your workplace is in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.  Space is limited. Register early so you don’t miss out.  Click on this link to register.  http://www.wsps.ca/Shop/Training/Webinars/Material-Handling-Blitz-Be-Ready.aspx
