Human resources
It is the responsibility of Landscape Ontario's Human Resources Department to implement the Labour Task Force Plan and to develop a safe, skilled, competent labourforce for the horticulture industry.
The HR department works closely with:
- The Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU)
- Ontario Horticultural Educators Council (OHEC)
- Ontario Horticultural Human Resource Council (OHHRC)
- Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB)
Some of the many programs include:
- Certified Horticultural Technician (CHT)
- Certified Landscape Professional (CLP)
- Certified Landscape Designer (CLP)
- Various apprenticeship training programs
- LO Winter Seminar Series
- Safe Communities Incentive Program (SCIP)
- Safety Groups
- Attending and organizing local job fairs
- Developing a high school horticulture curriculum
