Human resources

It is the responsibility of Landscape Ontario's Human Resources Department to implement the Labour Task Force Plan and to develop a safe, skilled, competent labourforce for the horticulture industry.

The HR department works closely with:
  • The Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU)
  • Ontario Horticultural Educators Council (OHEC)
  • Ontario Horticultural Human Resource Council (OHHRC)
  • Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB)
Some of the many programs include:
  • Certified Horticultural Technician (CHT)
  • Certified Landscape Professional (CLP)
  • Certified Landscape Designer (CLP)
  • Various apprenticeship training programs
  • LO Winter Seminar Series
  • Safe Communities Incentive Program (SCIP)
  • Safety Groups
  • Attending and organizing local job fairs
  • Developing a high school horticulture curriculum
